Howdy! My name is Caleb, I'm the owner of Knots and Fathoms. Why Knots and Fathoms you ask? Well, water depth used to be measured in fathoms which was around 6 feet. The way this was measured was by tying a knot in a rope about every arms span and dropping a weighted end in the water until either the bottom was reached or 'Deep-Six' which was deeper than ships needed to worry about. Here at Knots and Fathoms, I want to share tips and things that I have learned that deals with both adventures on land and the sea; from camping and bushcraft to fishing, sailing, and diving. Thanks for stopping by! -Caleb
